Since 1988 the Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung has held annual or biannual symposia. These are usually organised in close collaboration with other dance institutions and associations. The topics of these symposia are developed by the different working groups within GTF, establishing a wide frame that enables intelligable exchanges between individuals working within different areas of dance, such as performance, education, therapy and dance history or ethnology.
